The Pound is quietly assessing the statistics. Overview for 23.11.2017

The GBP/USD pair is trading upwards on Thursday; the GDP report didn’t impress investors.

On Thursday afternoon, the British Pound continues growing against the USD. The current quote for the instrument is 1.3316.

The UK GDP report published today matched investors’ expectations and didn’t them much. The British economy, according to the second estimation, expanded by 0.4% q/q and 1/5% y/y. The first estimation was the same.

The components of the report show that the biggest contribution to the indicator expansion was made by the service industry. The Industrial Output increased by 1.1%, the same as the Manufacturing. The Construction Output lost 0.9%.

The GBP/USD pair could have been more active today, but American investors are off the market due to the Thanksgiving Day celebrations in the USA, that’s why the instrument is pretty calm and doesn’t fluctuate much.

It’s highly likely that the Pound may keep the positive momentum against the USD until the end of the week.
