The company’s history goes back to 1888 when Wallace Calvin Abbott, a Michigan university graduate and practicing physician, started his own chemists’ store. Abbott introduced a new method of using alkaloids of medicinal herbs by making granules with microdoses. It helped to plan a medicine dosage, and predict effects more accurately.
